Music Therapy Services
“Before my daughter had music therapy, she was often locked away in her own world. Music therapy was the key that fitted the lock.”
What is Music Therapy?
We offer face-to-face and remote music therapy.
Since 1990, our music therapy clients have found new skills and confidence, improved their ability to connect to others, or opened further doors working with our music therapists. As a result, they’ve gone on to make far better use of the opportunities available to them.
Our therapists:
- take referrals for individual or group work;
- work on sessional contracts to provide music therapy to organisations such as schools, colleges, day services and residential services;
- work within Parity's day services;
- provide training to help people use music in other settings;
- take on fixed term projects, taster sessions and pilot projects.
All our therapists hold a recognised postgraduate qualification in music therapy and are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. They undertake regular clinical supervision and keep clinical records of their work. You can verify our music therapists’ registration on the HCPC website.
Our music therapy team is able to offer day service places thanks to a grant from The National Lottery Community Fund – Awards for All England.
