St George’s Day at the Camberley Day Service

A student poses in the flag photo booth

Camberley day service staff and students came up with plenty of ways to celebrate England’s patron saint:

  • We had a flag photo booth where students could have a picture taken.
  • We had three sensory trays, two filled with red and white shredded paper the other with shaving foam. The students were able to dig their hands into and find the hidden dragons! Students were able to put their hands inside and feel the different textures to try and find the dragon. A fun and messy activity!
  • We then had a dragon making station filled with toilet rolls and arts and crafts to create their own dragon to fly in a race this afternoon. Students used various different materials to stick together to create the dragons.
  • The sensory room was set up with lights and the Visilift playing a short story on YouTube all about St George. Students were able to go into the sensory room and watch the short film and learn all about St George.
  • Food themed activity: A rice krispie making station, St George themed, using rice krispie marshmallows.
