Students using Parity’s Acheeva beds have included people who could not have left home at all without access to this equipment.
The Acheeva Learning Station is a height adjustable, manoeuvrable system (therapy bed) that’s invaluable in providing support for these students so they can still live their lives.
Students can experience pressure sores and other medical issues, requiring them to spend time either on their stomach or on their side. For some, serious health issues have required them to remain in a particular lying position all the time. The Acheeva can reduce pain and discomfort, and raise levels of alertness too.
Everyone who uses the Acheeva stays in a safe and comfortable posture, at the same height as others, while doing activities.
If students just need time out of their wheelchair, then instead of laying on a mat on the floor, they can use the Acheeva to take part in a game, explore the internet or participate in lunchtime get-togethers even if they’re not eating lunch themselves. Staff don’t have to work on the floor with the person, much better for their own posture and backs.
