Make a Lava Lamp
Becky shows you how to make a lava lamp.
https://parityfordisability.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Lava-lamp.mp4
You will need:
Water
A clear plastic bottle such as a fizzy drink bottle
Vegetable oil
Food colouring
Alka-Seltzer (or other tablets that fizz) –
Please ensure this part is supervised
Add water into the plastic bottle until it is around one quarter full
Pour in vegetable oil until the bottle is nearly full.
Wait until the oil and water have separated.
Add around 12 drops of food colouring to the bottle.
Watch as the food coloring falls through the oil and mixes with the water.
Break an Alka-Seltzer tablet or similar into smaller pieces and drop one of them into the bottle, it will start to bubble like a real lava lamp!
When the bubbling stops, add another piece of Alka-Seltzer and watch the lamp change.
