More about the event - if you can walk on fire, what else can you achieve?
Parity for Disability’s sponsored Firewalk will provide you with a unique experience, whilst supporting a vital local charity.
Put simply, after a motivational training session, you will be able to walk barefoot across 20 feet of wood embers burning at 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit without experiencing pain or injury.
At the same time, the funds you raise will help maintain Parity’s services for people with multiple disabilities in your community.
This event is enjoyable, distinctive, intriguing and definitely different!
Who carries out the firewalk and what will it be like?
The Firewalk is carried out by specialists Blaze who have been successfully running firewalks in the UK for over 20 years.
Everyone finds their first firewalk thoroughly exhilarating. Participants have reported that they were ‘buzzing for days afterwards.’
Everyone who takes part will also discover for themselves the truth about firewalking. Blaze have an impeccable safety record and carry out thorough safety checks and procedures. Out of all the events they have facilitated, not one person has refused to firewalk, a real testament to their approach.
Because of safety the firewalk is an evening event. All participants go through a two-hour Fear Busting seminar which will equip them with the resources to walk unharmed across the burning embers. The training is based on proven motivational and psychological methods – it does not involve any element of hypnosis, spiritual training, chanting, ‘brainwashing’, voodoo or any similar methodologies. But it’s by no means a solemn affair, it will be hugely entertaining – both fun and thought provoking.
What are the fees and where does the money go?
We ask each person to raise £100 in sponsorship for Parity for Disability, and all monies raised will go to keeping the charity’s essential services for people with multiple disabilities going.
What happens after I sign up?
After you sign up, fundraising tips including sponsor forms or fundraising page information will be provided to you. We’ll be with you every step of the way.
