At the Annual General Meeting, members are needed to endorse the accounts and report for the year, elect some or all of the charity trustees in accordance with the constitution, approve the appointment of auditors and approve previous minutes. Members also vote at Extraordinary General Meetings.
- Parity membership is open to anyone who is a beneficiary of the service, their parents and carers, and any volunteer or other supporter who wishes to become a member. Trustees are automatically members. Paid employees are not permitted to join as members.
- There is no fee for membership.
- A quorum (agreed number) of members is required at the AGM. The RSVP list will be checked before the event to confirm that enough members are attending to create a quorum.
- Membership will be reviewed annually by asking existing members and also those eligible who have registered to attend the AGM to notify Parity if they wish to become a member or if they wish to cancel their membership.
- The charity keeps in regular touch with members via the Parity newsletter.
