Six new, adapted boom stands at Parity’s music therapy service mean students will be accessing a bigger variety of instruments.
Parity’s music therapists will use the boom stands to angle instruments correctly. Most of our students use wheelchairs and many have restricted movement.
Attractive bells, shakers and even a guitar can hang in exactly the right place for someone to be able to play, even if they can only move a couple of fingers.
“It is wonderful to see the students’ pleasure when they can make a musical sound by themselves and then hear the music therapist respond,” said Jenny Robson, Music Therapy Service Manager.
