Students Rob, Sunil and Georgia recently experienced the sensory and interactive wonders of Wellington Country Park’s Neverland Illuminova night trail with Emily, Natalie and Sophie.
“There was a story the whole way around the walk, it was extremely sensory for our students and very interactive,” Emily said.
Students were able to touch a pad so that lights lit up, go over coloured circles in their wheelchairs so that music played, and see themselves reflected in different colours on big screens.
When walking in the ‘whispering woods’, microphones would pick up whatever was said and play it back through the trees. “Lights and music played the whole way around,” Emily said, “and at the end there was a beautiful show over the water. It was one of the best trips out and we’d recommend it for anyone!”
